About Granville Ratepayers

The Granville Road Ratepayers Association was formed in July, 2017 to recognize, safeguard and retain the unique historical and cultural heritage of the Granville Road for all Canadians now and for generations to come and to encourage fitting and sustainable economic growth that benefits its residents.

Granville Road, Canada's first [military] road, begins just outside Annapolis Royal. It runs through the village of Granville Ferry, past small farms that incorporate the agricultural tidal marshes where Acadian culture began (commemorated at the Melanson Settlement National Historic Site), and on to Port Royal National Historic Site, where Champlain landed in 1605. The road passes through four rural/residential communities before ending at Victoria Beach on the Bay of Fundy.
